News just received from the organisers: "Next weekend's open at Middle Nene, which is both a southern and northern travellers event, has been postponed as the access road has been partly washed away and is unsuitable for trailers. It is now intended to hold the open on 2nd and 3rd November".
Please be sure to pass this news on to anyone you know who may have been planning to attend MNSC on 5th-6th October.
**** ADDITIONAL RECEIVED FROM MNSC: ****
"Due to unforeseen circumstances the MNSC Flying 15 Open - Waples Wines Northern & Southern Traveller event had to be postponed to 2nd/3rd November 2019. In this context we are offering all sailors who already have their boats in the region (e.g. to participate in the Ovington Multi Class Inland Event at Grafham SC the weekend before) to park their boat in the closed compound at MNSC for the week in between, if they would like to sail in the Open. For any further information about the Open and access to MNSC's boat park please contact Neil Bartholomey on 07850 771965"
** INFORMATION ADDED FOR ATTENTION OF NORTHERN SERIES COMPETITORS: **
Having polled the opinions this evening of a cross-section of the 'Waples' competitors the decision has been made that the final round of the Northern series will remain the Notts County event on 19th - 20th October, with the total number of events in the series consequently reducing from five events to four.
Although the results from the rescheduled Middle Nene event won't now be included in the overall Northern series score we are of course very sympathetic towards MNSC unfortunately having to make the difficult decision to postpone their event at short notice. We do encourage and hope that as many 'Northerners' as possible will still support MNSC by taking part in their event on the new November dates.
