For Sale Small Print / Posting Instructions (or Video)

If Posting this is the small print

We really appreciate the regular use of the second hand listing pages and we’ve been working hard to ensure that this is easy to use and gives a quick response.

However we’d like to remind you that a little bit of patience is required with these new features, if you upload an advert it WILL NOT appear immediately even if you have paid by card.  This because a HUMAN, not a computer needs to approve your advert.

So if your advert doesn’t appear immediately, please don’t up load another. It hasn’t appeared because it hasn’t been approved by one of the two or three HUMANS who do this!

Please note we do not deal with third party contracted web developers to place adverts on this site we only accept adverts from members or Flying Fifteen owners on these pages.

Thanks for listening

The management!

Franklin Eldridge 1987. Argyll Scotland

Built in 1987 by legendary Windermere boat builder Richard Pierce of Franklin Eldridge(see links below) as project for a family member.  Constructed in  Cedar/epoxy/glass composite incorporating the hull improvements made by Roy Windebank at the time, but also many of Richard’s own design ideas.  The result was a unique and arguably one of the most beautifully built Flying 15s in existence.   Very quick, definitely at the top end of the silver fleet and still competitive with many of the open class boats.
I bought the boat from Richard about 18 years ago and sailed it at multiple events on the west of Scotland over the years, it is an absolute joy to sail and always competitive whether its was on handicap against other boat designs or other Flying 15s.   This is a very reluctant sale, but it hasn’t been out of the shed for a while and it really needs to be in the water.
Having been in storage for a while, the varnish in places does need some attention to bring her back to her best, and some of the minor running rigging may need replacing.  I can arrange to have this completed at extra cost if need be, but a decent sander and a tin of Epiphanes is really all that is required.  Other than that the boat is solid and in good order.  The composite construction is definitely more robust than that of a traditional wooden boat, but it does require more care than a plastic boat. However if you are looking for something unique, fast and beautiful then this is the boat for you.
The boat is currently in Ardfern, Argyll
