It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Flying Fifteen sailor Barry Rolfe. He died suddenly on the 15th of January whilst out cycling in Dorset. Barry was a keen cyclist as well as a very active Flying Fifteen helm. He had been Commodore of Parkstone Yacht Club and, before that, the Class Captain at the Club. Barry always had time to have a chat with everyone and was enthusiastic in everything he did and he played an important part in developing and supporting the Parkstone fleet. He will be known to many Association members who have sailed at events hosted at Parkstone and elsewhere. He will be very much missed.
The funeral will be at 11.45am on Friday 13 February at the Church of Transfiguration, Chaddesley Glen, Canford Cliffs, and afterwards at Parkstone YC for a light buffet and celebration of his life.
Family Flowers only please, you may wish to make a donation in memory of Barry to one of the families chosen charities Poole Sailability or the RNLI please visit www.tapperfuneralservice.co.uk and follow the links.
