When we had those real honking breezes back in May 2011, I noticed Mark Firth and Tony Mumford switching to their old flat cut Batt main. It reminds me that we had the same sail on our old Mk IX and won many races using it. I had a real deeply ingrained bias toward them - and I thought I'd use flatter sails on Datchet Waters. A smashing sail, it was. Of course, Datchet - net of May 2011 - is basically a light to medium breeze kind of venue.
