This comprises the three that were intermittently sailing last year, three boats which had been in long term storage, and five boats new to the club. There is also a long term boat restoration project underway. And today Chris Sparks (who Justin put in touch with me having met him at the dinghy show) came sailing with me – he is a laser sailor at another local club who has bought a 15 but may gravitate to joining our fleet. The boats are mainly silver fleet, with the odd classic and some just above the silver cutoff. 3487 is the newest (1994). Hopefully before long we will be able to get some class racing going. It is all very low key – I don’t think the Aldeburgh fleet are going to be travelling anytime soon! There is currently no Fifteen Open meeting planned at Aldeburgh, but there is a Classics Regatta weekend on 10-11th June – (the organisers have stretched the entry criteria for 15s to ‘any boat not in its first flush of youth’) - and we are hoping we will get some visitors that weekend (Bobby will you be back?) - and the Aldeburgh Regatta week (20-25th August) where we should have a class start – hopefully with a few visitors.
